Kenya was first hit by coronavirus on 13th March, 2020.
This thus forced the government to place adequate measures to fight the pandemic; this included taking a loan facility for purchase of PPEs.

For the first three months of the pandemic, the government is said as reported by the Daily Nation newspaper, to have loaned a total of Ksh.136bn which is Ksh.4.5bn per day. This amounts to approximately Ksh.0.4 trillion.
